The Caribbean Procurement Institute (CPI) is a private sector organisation established to serve policy makers and practitioners in the field of procurement. We are dedicated to the promotion of excellent standards in procurement for both public and private sector organisations in the interests of the public good. For the first time in the Caribbean Community, CPI will bring world renown and regional experts in the field of procurement together at The Caribbean Public Procurement (Law & Practice) Conference CPPC 2008 scheduled for March 2008 at the Hyatt Regency in Trinidad and Tobago to elevate regional discourse and promote consensus building and reform in public sector procurement. We believe that CPPC 2008 is an opportunity, not to be missed, for regional procurement professionals to establish an association which will be committed:
  • To promote high standards of professional skill, ethics and integrity among all those engaged in procurement.
  • To increase the appreciation of the value of procurement good practice by raising the profile of procurement professionals in the region.
  • To encourage learning, knowledge sharing and consensus building in the region.
  • To establish and implement training and certification standards and requirements for the procurement profession
  • To work with its members to establish and mentor national chapter associations.
  • To promote reform in procurement regimes consistent with established best practice
These are just some of the objectives that a regional association could set, but the actual, vision, mission, goals and objectives will be set by you, the procurement professionals who answer this call. Register your interest and you will be contacted to attend a series of meetings prior to CPPC 2008 facilitated by CPI in association with the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management, aimed at achieving consensus among regional professionals for the establishment of the association. There is absolutely no cost attached to attending these meetings except your time, energy and commitment to the cause.
